Capcom's most successful video game is no longer Street Fighter II, with the SNES fighter's 6.3 million copies now bettered by Resident Evil 5.

Resident Evil 5 has now sold 6.5 million copies since its release in 2009.

Third in line is the hugely disappointing Resident Evil 6 which has some how blundered its way to 5.2 copies sold since its release in 2012.

It's worth pointing out that Street Fighter II Turbo for the SNES has also sold an impressive 4.1 million copies, and given its release a year after the original would have cannibalised sales.

Capcom has seen more than 60 games sell over one million copies, the latest being Monster Hunter 4 which has moved over 3 million copies in just a matter of months.

Wel this isn't right, Resident Evil 5 was not an authentic Resident - Evil experience was it?

Me too, however that doesn't take into account the growth in the market. if you increased the sales of SF2 proportionally by how many people have a console capable of playing it these days I'm sure it would still trounce it.
