THQ's announced that the promised multiplayer demo for Red Faction: Guerrilla is now available to download on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and the PlayStation Store.

The multiplayer demo features ten-player Damage Control, an explosive new mode that utilises Volition’s advanced GeoMod 2.0 Destruction Engine to add a new twist to traditional capture-and-hold, point-based gameplay.

“The multiplayer demo is just a sneak peak at how Volition is bringing real innovation to multiplayer gameplay with its GeoMod 2.0 destruction engine,” said Kevin Kraff, vice president of worldwide marketing, THQ. “The Red Faction: Guerrilla single-player demo received over one million downloads on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network1, continuing the tremendous hype for the June 2nd retail launch.”

Red Faction: Guerrilla is scheduled for release on June 5 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Smacking things with a hammer is good.

I'm already sold on the single player so whilst I'm grateful to THQ for providing a multiplayer demo I'm not going to be downloading it, I just know it's going to suck up way too many gaming hours that I should be using to complete existing games before Red Faction gets released.

Single player demo should still be available for those that haven't tried it yet, and if you haven't tried it yet you're missing out on some serious fun.
