Sales of Red Dead Redemption on Xbox 360 have risen a massive 5,394 per cent on Amazon.co.uk since the game was announced to be coming to Xbox One backwards compatibility later this week.

The regular edition of the game rose from sales rank 989 to 18, whilst a 1,845 per cent increase in sales of the Game of the Year Edition saw it climb from position 681 to No.35.

Rockstar announced yesterday evening that “starting on Friday, every Red Dead Redemption Xbox 360 owner will be able to play the game directly on their Xbox One, regardless of which version of the game they own (Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare andRed Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition).”

The games will also be available to purchase on Friday via the Games Store on Xbox One.
