Fans have been waiting a long time to play Ubisoft’s first-person multiplayer shooter. It was heavily hyped in previous betas and previews, and it should finally be fully launching very soon. XDefiant is Ubisoft’s free-to-play shooter that is said to be a “Call of Duty beater“. This upcoming playtest is another opportunity to play the game as Ubisoft allow the servers to be stress tested in real-world conditions ahead of launch. This serves as an unofficial beta to the game as it allows Ubisoft to analyze the performance and make changes and fixes before the finished product is released.

XDefiant Server Test Session release date

The release date for the XDefiant Server Test Session is April 19th. This comes courtesy of Ubisoft over on the official PlayXDefiant Twitter account.

Ubisoft is releasing this playtest to stress test the server in real-world conditions to ensure it is stable enough for the game’s full release. It is also simply another great opportunity for players to try the game ahead of its eventual launch.

When does the XDefiant Server Test Session start?

The release time for when the XDefiant Server Test Session will come out and start is 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET/ 6 PM BST on April 19th. Again, all of these launch hours have been confirmed by Ubisoft on the game’s dedicated socials.

Unfortunately, as of writing, there is no official full release date for XDefiant, but it is expected to launch soon provided there’s no hiccups in today’s playtest. A recent leak did point to a May 13th release date, which means that if it is correct players won’t have long to wait between the Server Test Session and the full release.

This playtest will end at the same hours on Sunday, April 21st.

Here is everything you need to know about how to download the XDefiant Server Test Session on your preferred platform. Preload is available now and can be downloaded immediately in preparation for the April 19th launch.

How to download on PC

To preload the playtest on PC, you will need to first register on Ubisoft’s website and then download from Ubisoft Connect.

How to play on PS5

To preload and play the playtest on PS5, you just need to download it from the PSN store. If you played an XDefiant test or beta before and kept the game in your library, that is a different “product” just called XDefiant. Keep it as it will eventually be the final launch product.

How to play on Xbox

Lastly, to preload and play on Xbox, you just need to download the playtest from the Microsoft store.

Similar to PS5, If you played an XDefiant test before and kept the game in your library, that is a different “product”. Keep it as it will eventually be the final launch product.

In addition, if you still have the Closed Beta build, this one will have a grey icon and is expired, so you can delete it.
