GT5: Prologue vs. Forza 2 vs. PGR4

A visual comparison of the three leading next-gen racers.

Following the release of Sony's Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, VideoGamer.com has created a video feature pitting the PlayStation 3 racing giant against Microsoft's track-based brawlers Forza Motorsport 2 and Project Gotham Racing 4.

We won't offer a verdict on which game we think is best, but feel free to post what you think in the comments section below. In addition to the video we've also put together some screen grabs from similar sections of race track and taken a closer look at the car models.

So, which do you think looks the best? Remember to check the video as well as looking at the screens.

Who cares about looks, I couldnt care what a game looks like when theres no gameplay... and the gamplay on GT5 left me feeling like I was missing out on something... it never quite had the edge.. Online was incredibly terrible compared to forza online... And how can you compare Forza 2 and GT5 to PGR for gotdsake PGR isnt in the same leauge... I love PGR4 brilliant game, but its an arcade game end of... thats like comparing rugby and football ball games together... pointless

You guys shouldn't compare a game that had been released a year ago. Of course the newer one GT5 is better because sony has been working on it for how many years? Never compared a game that is older.. it is just not fair. .. newer one always improves and better.

i just cant decide which is better , why? because i have to see em both on same HD display in action not in photos so i can decide , because they are both HD games and its not fair to tell which is better from such small photos.

Compared to GT5:P, Forza2 is just bad. now keep in mind, Forza compared to most racing games is good, just GT5:P is AWESOME.
while other racing games are fun and all that, they can never compete with Gran Turismo.

I got to admit, im a little suprised, I was sure GT5P would beat the crap out of Forza 2 at the grpahics side. GT5's cars looks amazing. But agian... that's not really hard when you can wreak the cars. For the tracks. Most looks more detailed on Forza 2, but the London track, hands down, GT5P looks amazing on that one. If they only could do that with all the tracks in GT5

Absolutely, check the lighting on the London street track. there is clearly more advanced lighting techniques going on in GT5P. Have a close look at the Sanyo and TDK advertising boards and the way the light hits the adjacent building. PGR4 and Forza look a bit cartoony in comparison.

ok in all honesty, gt5 is hands down the better looking of the two games. it has cooler, more realistic cars and probably better gameplay (based on their previous titles)
hopefully for all us 360 owners forza 3 isn't that far away

This argument is to determine which looks better and of course its gt5.I dont like the gran turismo games as I find them very boring especially the robotic way the ai cars goes round the track.Gameplay is most important.Looks do matter though and gt5 wins on that front.

The only way you get good comaprisons is on a real tv and rent the games, i dont go by crappy comparisons online! I saw a pc gameplay once on the net and it looked fantastic, got the game and the gfx was sh*te! Do yourself a favour and go and borrow the game to see for your self!

without a doubt the real racing simulator wins overall and to think its just a demo!! ah huh! well tried 360 but you just aint got the flashy wheels.. to show off

whoever took those screenshots of GT5 should be shot!

The colour has been toned done, the graphics look grainy and there's no sense of depth.

Now when played on HDTV, GT5 looks so superior to any other game it almost defies belief

GT5 has clearly the better graphics. Yes, Forza may be sharper, but Spyro the Dragon on PSOne is SHARP! Forza and PGR do not look realistic compared to GT5!
