Codemasters' sequel slips from its previously planned 2008 release.
According to the Operation Flashpoint 2 website, the highly anticipated military combat sequel is now scheduled for release in 2009. The game had previously been expected to launch in winter 2008.
Codemasters has also announced that a brand new CGI trailer created from rendered in-game models is to be released tomorrow (July 11). The video will open with US Special Ops carrying out a stealth mission to destroy a Chinese forward observation post. Suddenly, their mission is compromised and the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) attacks. US reinforcements are called in and a full-scale battle develops between the PLA and the marines.
