Acclaimed open-world fantasy RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is set to get another re-release this time in the form of a Fifth Anniversary edition.

According to retailer listings, the new set will hit stores in the US next month and will feature:

- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game Of The Year Edition

- Collector's Edition Content (map, 'Making Of' DVD with an added Skyrim trailer)

- A $10 Off Coupon (redeemable at any retailer, nationwide) for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

All this will come packaged within a steelbook case with slip cover and should be available on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. There's currently no indication of a UK release.

VideoGamer.com Analysis

The Fifth Anniversary release of Oblivion will lead in nicely to the November 11 launch of the long-awaited follow-up, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Not only will it raise awareness of the brand in the months prior to Skyrim, but it should attract new fans who missed out when the game arrived years ago.

I'll be interested in getting it on the PS3 if they have added Trophy support as it gives me a reason to play through it again!

Yet to play either of the DLC which the GOTY offers. I think GOTY Oblivion is hard to obtain, unless I am looking in the wrong directions.

I rediscovered this game hiding at the back of my game draw, must have sunk another 30+ hours into just going around doing all the side quests and guild missions, that's on top of the 30+ hours I put in first time round. Annoying thing is I'm still only 72% completed!

Mehrune's Razor?

I never bothered with the smaller expansion bits and bobs. I put so many hours into the game, even before stuff like Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles. I think that's a problem for them actually; putting so much content in the original game, that people don't want to buy the DLC due to the amount of time they've played it already!

I'll only be interested if it has the content the GOTY pack left out (Wizards tower, someones dagger, i forget.....)

Good opportunity for those who missed it in 2006, but I doubt there's many who want to play it and haven't done so by now. There's nothing here that takes my interest, though, unless they sell it for $10 :p
