Oblivion re-release set for June
Fifth anniversary edition shows up at online retailers.
Acclaimed open-world fantasy RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is set to get another re-release this time in the form of a Fifth Anniversary edition.
According to retailer listings, the new set will hit stores in the US next month and will feature:
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game Of The Year Edition
- Collector's Edition Content (map, 'Making Of' DVD with an added Skyrim trailer)
- A $10 Off Coupon (redeemable at any retailer, nationwide) for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
All this will come packaged within a steelbook case with slip cover and should be available on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. There's currently no indication of a UK release.
VideoGamer.com Analysis
The Fifth Anniversary release of Oblivion will lead in nicely to the November 11 launch of the long-awaited follow-up, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Not only will it raise awareness of the brand in the months prior to Skyrim, but it should attract new fans who missed out when the game arrived years ago.

I never bothered with the smaller expansion bits and bobs. I put so many hours into the game, even before stuff like Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles. I think that's a problem for them actually; putting so much content in the original game, that people don't want to buy the DLC due to the amount of time they've played it already!
