Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive developer Team Ninja is working on a PlayStation 4 title, studio head Yosuke Hayashi has revealed.

Hayashi teased the news in an interview with Dengeki Online (translated by Gematsu) while discussing Spark Unlimited's upcoming Ninja Gaiden spin-off Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.

"First, we will release Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z for PS3 and Xbox 360," he said, "which we joint developed with the Inafune-led company Comcept. Please look forward to this ridiculous 'zombie x ninja' game.

"Additionally, we're also developing a PlayStation 4 title internally, so please look forward to future updates."

The title is likely the next core instalment in the Ninja Gaiden series teased by Hayashi last year.

Back in December, Hayashi told fans hesitant about the upcoming spin-off not to worry as "Team Ninja is thinking of the next Ninja Gaiden."

"You just let it out that you're coming up with the next [juicy] steak!" added director Keiji Inafune. "So to the people waiting for that next Ninja Gaiden, it's coming! And in the meantime, enjoy Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z!"

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is due to launch on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on March 21.

I agree with the other comments.... I would also love to see the other ninja return, especially Kasumi, but with more story line involved around them(and Hayate would be a plus)... And let Ryu Hayabusa finally bang Kasumi... Make it official lol jk, they make a good couple tho... Two player modes/missions PLEASE... Longer and more in depth storyline, I wouldn't mind a SOLID 15 hours of gameplay! Maybe more travel and dialogue among characters... And maybe a "ninja sparring mode" or lobbies in which you can face off against the other generic (or created) ninjas too, I think vs modes online and non online keep the game relevant... People like that kind of stuff

What's wrong with 2? It was *****ing amazing IMO. I hope its more like 2 with the stealth parts of 3 put in and improved.

Hopefully it'll be more like the first (3D) Ninja Gaiden and less like 2 or 3...
