Microsoft has begun chest thumping over it's 2008 line-up of games, saying its invention of Xbox has led to a "Christmas Eve like never before" every week of the year.
In an update on its official website the company cites Gears of War 2 (Nov 2008), Ninja Gaiden 2 (June 6), Too Human (August 29), Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise (Sep 2008), Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (Holiday 2008), Fable 2 (2008) and Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One (out now).
It says: "It's going to be very tough sleeping at night with this amazing haul coming so soon."

WOW, MS make themsleves look more and more like childish morons every day. Only a couple of those are actually top AAA games, the rest are meh, typical console filler.

Well, I'm excited for Gears 2, but that's pretty much it from that list. Honestly I'm more excited for more PS3 games coming out this holiday season. LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2 are must owns for me, and I'm even pretty damn excited for Pixeljunk Eden.

I couldn't agree with you more, and that's why you are a moron. They only have a couple of EXCLUSIVE AAA games coming out in the second half of 08...... boo hoo.
Not to mention Too Human which was not mentioned but is in the original statement.
You see Dion, this was to show that there is a steady stream of good stuff coming out, unlike the other consoles who either blew their wad already (I'm lookin at you Wii....SMS,SMBB,Kart) or making you wait for the holiday to release all their blockbusters (with the exception of MGS4).

MS chest thumps? What's with the negative spin in the headline, I didn't see this as chest thumping, they are bringing up a good point, it is a great time to be a gamer because we have so many games to choose from.
Why is all MS news always presented with a smarmy condescending tone, just report the gaming news, I don't need to know about your biases for one console over another, I just want the news.

Yeah right like this is a good line up. Viva pinata looks like crap. Rare screwed up Banjo Kazooie by making people have to drive vehicles the whole time. Who knows if Fable 2 is gonna come through with all its promises. The only safe bet is Gears of War 2.

ps3 getting to human resistance metal gear bioshock grid metalgear gonna take some beating and if gears plays like the first 1 which was boring halfway through same gimmick allthe way little big planet and as we all know the superior version of gta and grid

Bioshock has been played over and over on the old xbox 360 let's hope its not one of those buggy ports the ps3 is so used to.

And the ps3 "superior version" of GTA will not have DLC on christmas.
The only reason i envy ps3 this christmas is over MGS4 and Killzone2 :)

Unlike the other consoles? You mean the superior PS3 lineup, or the wii which is outsellling both? How about the fact despite a year head start with ni competition for 1 year, the more expensive PS3 has outsold the 360 in the same time frame, and is going to overtake the 360 by 2009? Not to mention the terrible faulty hardware, red ring of death. Only idiots buy a piece of hardware as terrible as that.

360 fanbots, by far the worst of any console, dumb and dillusional. 360 lineup is poor for 08, and is being outsold worldwide by both consoles, hell, even in MS home country it is neck and neck, with the PS3 outselling the 360 several months in 08.

First of alll i'm no fanboy, i had Dreamcast, PS2, Game Cube and Xbox last gen and although all those console had some great games, (eg, Shenmue on Dreamcast, GTA3 on PS2, Metroid Prime on Game Cube and Halo on Xbox) the PS2 was where it was at simply because it had the best line up of games. This gen i have family commitments and can't justify buying all the consoles until a substantial price cut makes it possible, for this reason i own only the 360 and although i'll be looking at buying a PS3 whe the price is right, i'll probably give the Wii a miss as the main feature (Wii remote) doesn't really compel me to buy it. The thing that i find strange is that while the Dreamcast was a great console and had some great games, it was never really given a fair chance once the PS2 was released and i'm not really sure why. Sure the PS2 ended up being the clear winner but with marginably more power which was not always evident with games like Soul Calibre, i'm not sure how this came to be? This gen it is clear to me that the 360 has the same kind of advantage that PS2 had last gen yet it seems that alot of the media is willing it to fail in the same way as Sega did. I can understand that there is alot of bad will aimed at Microsoft for being perceived as a giant monopolistic company but surely that applied to Sony too, especially when pitted against Sega? Anyway aside from MGS which i've never really been a fan of and Final Fantasy which i've grown bored of over time, i believe that MS have the best content available for the foreseeable future and they will continue to get my vote until Sony give me a thirst for something that can't be quenched by the 360.

Sure Microsoft says this after they delayed Alan Wake to 2009, delayed Splinter Cell 2009, delayed Halo Wars 2009. The only game that is even on the radar for X360 is Gears 2 and I think Resistance 2 is going to eat it up. Resistance is looking to be far more innovative, it's going to have better online and a bigger campaign as well.

NJ you do realise Resistance is a poor mans rip of of Gears don't you. No way will 2 be as good as GOW2 i don't any serious gamer could expect it. With GOW you have a good basis to work off with resistance yo have a steaming pile of poo!
I think there s something for everyone in the line up i'm looking forward to fable 2 the most jst hope its not pushed back but i'd rather it be pushed back than come out and fall short. Just want it to be as good as the 1st amazing game.

How is Resistance a gears rip-off, it was released before GEars idiot, and was in production way before gears was even released. Dumb xbox fanboys. Gears is an overrated game, much better shooters around. Resistance 2 is about on par with arcade linear mediocre console shooters.

I wouldnt say they have a great line up of games this year, but GOW2 does wet alot of peoples appetite, besides i reckon there will be a midnight launch without a doubt for this game! I hope theres one for RFOM2 aswell. Both games are good.
But theres a lack of good games out on 360 compared to PS3. Just wish there were more games out for the PC too.:glare:

i bought gears when it came out expecting some sort of gaming revoution what did i get run shoot hide behind wall for the full ****ing game lol dont make me laff it had good graphics though but defo a 1 trick pony.resistance is looking vastly improved too human is multi format any way xbox is slowing reaching its peak what u got to relise xbox games are now what 4 generation graphic wise ps3 2 gen and already matching and now starting to out perform the xbox whic i own as well just look at un charted nowt can touch it on 360 wait mgs4 comes out its gonna be awsome
