Medal of Honor: Warfighter sales to be hampered by 'poor quality' of previous game
Analyst chops first quarter sales estimates by almost one million.
The "poor quality" of 2010's Medal of Honor has resulted in gamer disinterest in this year's Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Cowen analyst Doug Creutz told investors in a research note, as reported by Forbes.
Creutz has cut his first quarter sales prediction for the game from 2.3 million copies to just 1.4 million copies.
"This is based on a very soft performance since E3 in Amazon's top-selling game rankings compared to other recent titles," he wrote in a research note. "We think the most likely culprit for apparent gamer disinterest is the poor quality of the last 'Medal of Honor' game in 2010."
And the bad news for EA doesn't end there, with Creutz also predicting that the subscriber figure for Star Wars: The Old Republic will drop to 500,000 – based on "continued poor server density trends".
Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be released October 23.
