Not a problem when development leads on PS3.
Speaking in a conference call to investors, EA CEO Riccitiello has revealed the leading publisher is still experiencing development delays as a result of the difficulties associated with PlayStation 3 development. Currently only titles developed with the PS3 as lead - Burnout Paradise - can boast an issue free development.
"Games where we led development on the PS3 platform, like Burnout, which is doing very well on the market today, we had no issue at all," said Riccitiello. "But in circumstances where we either led on the Xbox 360 or ran parallel production, for the most part, we're still experiencing some delay on the PS3. It's a little bit more of a challenging development environment for us."
Although the situation has vastly improved in the year since the PlayStation 3 launched, Riccitiello admits "there still remains some catching up to do on the engineering side for the PS3".

Why don't they just learn OpenGl then they could sell it for the PS3 Linux and Windows with very little porting. They are lazy. Infinity Ward did not whine about making games. Get out of the game don't hold back good systems because your company sucks!

This reader suggests EA do a couple things:
A) Never work for Valve again, you're going to take the blame for their lack of ability
B) Hire some coders from Insomniac/Naughty Dog/Guerilla Games/Square-Enix/Polyphony Digital who know what they're doing. Or at least hire them as consultants.
C) Ground up builds on the PS3 are preferable, anything else will be ignored by the PS3 community.
