An updated rendition of the artwork which originally accompanied the game's announcement.

Rockstar Games has released the official cover art for Max Payne 3.

The cover is an updated rendition of the artwork that accompanied the game's announcement last autumn, and features a battle-scarred Max set against a São Paulo backdrop.

Max Payne 3 will be released May 18 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The PC version will hit stores two weeks later.

Rockstar have a habit of making cover art that really wouldn't look out of place in a nice frame in a living room. If I manage to get a house this year I'll be including some framed game art and this could be a contender :)

I actually really like it. I took one of the cardboard promo pieces from work and have it stuck on my wall. It's like this, but it's landscape, Max is stood in a suit with a gun pointed and its about A4 :)

I think it needs more teal, and maybe an extra dash of... ooh, I dunno, a reddy yellowy colour? Can't quite put my finger on it.
