Mass Effect's Miranda is defined by her sexuality
She's been genetically engineered to be perfect, asserts BioWare.
Miranda is no stranger to the close-up butt shot, but BioWare marketing director David Silverman says it helps define her.
"The fact is, some characters are defined by their attractiveness, such as a woman who is genetically engineered to be perfect," he explained to VG247.
"Camera angles help tell the story and portray key aspects of each character - in Miranda's case, her curves and sexuality."
Silverman further defended the gratuitous shots, arguing Mass Effect has "had similar shots of Jacob" - the human biotic from Mass Effect Galaxy and Mass Effect 2.
Speaking of BioWare making the most of the Mass Effect characters' assets, the studio recently released a shot of a rather buff James Vega.
Mass Effect 3 is scheduled for release March 9, 2012 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, but fans will get the chance to try out the title at GAMEfest this September.
It's also unlikely this is the end for the franchise, with BioWare stating it's seeking the right way to continue Mass Effect.

I loved the fact that Ash was pretty hot in the first game, but a total biggot with a unlikeable personality. I really appreciated she had enough depth to be unlikeable but rounded enough to be believable. I hope Kasumi has a cameo.

Though Ash looks properly hot in ME3.

Miranda was designed to be a 'poster babe' - for ME1 it was Ash and she came across with more depth in my opinion (though her anti-alien bias made her look a bit of a biggot).
Miranda's 'Arse-cam' shots were a bit cheesy, would have been better if such shots were linked to the conversation tangent you were taking - i.e. the flirt option.
Her loyalty mission helped flesh out the character though :0)
