Mass Effect 3 to be harder than Mass Effect 2
News
Normal is the new Veteran, claims the game's exec producer.
Mass Effect 3 will be a harder game than the second instalment in the trilogy, series executive producer Casey Hudson has told Belgian gaming magazine CHIEF.
Speaking to the mag - translated by NeoGAF - Hudson said that in ME3, "Normal is the new Veteran".
Mass Effect 2 offered the following difficulty settings: casual, normal, veteran, hardcore and insanity.
This means the base level game is about one difficulty level harder than that of Mass Effect 2.
According to the magazine, enemies in Mass Effect 3 will also make use of expanded tactics to defeat players - flanking them or calling in reinforcements are examples.
Mass Effect 3 is scheduled for release in winter 2011.

I'm playing through it right now on Normal and I have thought it seems really easy, so this change is a nice change. I'm playing as an Adept, no idea if that's an overpowered class or not.

Flanking will be a bastard, that's for sure. The bits where I struggled often involved the Blood Pack, who will rush you a little bit and pressure you. Mass Effect from a distance has always been quite easy.
