BioWare has started drafting in voice actors for the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut, confirming that Hackett, EDI and Kaiden will all be making a reappearance in the RPG’s new epilogue.

Lance Henriksen, who voices Admiral Hackett, confirmed his presence in BioWare’s recording studios.

“I just did another session with [BioWare],” he said in gravelly tones to G4. “They were saying there’s a little bit of a problem with the abruptness of the ending. So we did a whole series of things to add to the end of the game, to live up to the quality they’ve been doing.”

“Usually, when a guy loses the game, the game shuts down; it’s over. It’s done. The players don’t like that,” added Henriksen. Loses the game, Lance? I had a galactic readiness of 100% and my war assets were out of this world, thankyouverymuch.

Raphael Sbarge, the voice of Kaiden Alenko, has also said on Twitter that he’ll also be reading some lines. “Just when you thought I would never go back, they keep PULLING me back in #MassEffect!! Recording!! Yay! Wha-hoo!”

Presumably with Kaiden putting some time in we should also expect some dialogue from Kimberly Brooks, who voices Ashley Williams.

EDI vocal talent Tricia Helfer also confirmed her return. “I’m voicing some more Mass Effect on Monday,” she said.

Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut will be released for free this summer.
