BioWare: ME2 has too much awesome for 1 disc

Xbox 360 players will need to disc swap at some point in the game.

BioWare has confirmed that Mass Effect 2 will ship on two DVDs for Xbox 360 and PC. If you buy the Collector's Edition the set will contain a third DVD packed full of bonus content.

BioWare community coordinator Chris Priestly stated: "The PC version is a standard install. You install the information from both discs and then play with 1 disc in the drive. No swapping."

He added: "The Xbox 360 does not have an install and does require disc swapping during play.

"Even though there is a disc swap, it occurs at a carefully planned place in the game (that does not interfere with gameplay) and is done once. You do not swap back and forth. 1 swap and then done."

And why couldn't the game ship on one game disc? Priestly says it's "because you cannot fit this much awesome on one disc".

doesnt matter. it is on pc for me........

If you Google images for 'space hopper' you'll see why I got confused by Woffls comment above. S'funny the strange mental images I can suffer from due to lack of caffeine.

I'm hoping Bioware do something out of the box rather than just have a 'Please insert Disc 2' message. Like, having a console on the Normandy requesting more data as a prompt or Shepard turning to camera and telling the player to get up off their lazy butt.

YES! A strange side of me likes that the Mass Effect 2 CE will now have 3 discs :laugh: Also, best. headline. ever.

Hopefully I wont have to change the disc while space hopping, just when I get to a certain part of the story progression.

When he says "The Xbox 360 does not have an install . ..." am I right in thinking that 360 owners can still install the game to their hard drives anyway? If so, what will the install sizes be for Disc 1 and Disc 2?
