BioWare: Hold onto your Mass Effect game saves
Mass Effect 2 teaser trailer also released.
Over the weekend BioWare released the first teaser trailer for Mass Effect 2, the highly anticipated second chapter in the sci-fi trilogy.
There's no game footage, but fans have been knocked for six with the revelation that Commander Shepard has been "killed in action". You'll find much discussion over on the BioWare forums.
In the same discussion thread, BioWare has chipped in, informing fans that they should most definitely hang on to their Mass Effect game saves.
"This is just your first taste of Mass Effect 2. We are not yet discussing the details of the game," stated BioWare community coordinator Chris Priestly. "However... don't delete your Mass Effect 1 saves yet."
Expect lots more on Mass Effect 2 over the coming year. There's currently no word on which platforms the sequel will appear.

Btw i hope they improved the horrible combat sequences , give melee a proper button instead of auto hit . Give some "noisy" laser weapons , u know what i mean ?

Would be neat if more developers could do this, e.g. if Mass Effect 2 notices I've also got a Jade Empire and Dragon Age save file on my 360 it could maybe unlock some exclusive DLC or ingame content for free, other games on older consoles have done this previously so would be nice to see it done more often.
Anyway, great to see that at least two other Bioware devs have chimed in on that thread to confirm our old Mass Effect gamesaves shouldn't be deleted.
