Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.
Recommendation of the Week: Mirror's Edge - PC
If you've been waiting for the best version of Mirror's Edge, wait no more. While this PC version is essentially the same as the game Xbox 360 and PS3 owners were playing late last year, a few new graphical bells and whistles make this the one to own if you've got a PC up to the job. The new physics objects in the levels make the world that touch more believable and generally look pretty cool. If you refuse to play PC games with a control pad then we'd advise against Mirror's Edge on PC as we couldn't get on at all with the mouse and keyboard controls - an Xbox pad, either wired or wireless with a dongle, works brilliantly.
Worth a look: Lord of the Rings Conquest - Xbox 360, PS3, PC and DS
We can't say a whole lot about this until Friday, but we can say that we reckon it'll be worth a look if you're a fan of the Lord of the Rings movies, in particular the fights. It does feel a lot like Star Wars Battlefront without lightsabers or pistols, but for some people that's probably a very good thing indeed. Seeing as a demo is already out for Xbox 360 and PS3 you've probably tried it yourself anyway and made up your mind whether to purchase or not.
