SEGA can continue to celebrate, with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games holding on to the top spot in the All Formats All Prices video game chart. The Wii and DS title has now topped the chart for a total of six weeks.
Ubisoft’s Lost: The Video Game debuts at No.3, ahead of THQ’s impressive PC and Xbox 360 FPS Frontlines: Fuel of War at No.4 – dominated by sales of the Xbox 360 version. Microsoft’s Lost Odyssey is also new at No.6. The Sims 2: Freetime is the last of the new entries, placing at No.10.
The newly launched DS Lite Brain Training bundle has contributed to a 24% rise in DS Lite hardware sales and a boost for the original Brain Training game – climbing one place to No.2. The sequel also jumps back up the chart, from No.15 to No.7.
Konami’s PES 2008 re-enters the Top 10 at No.9 thanks to the newly released PSP edition (No.1 in the PSP chart). The biggest disappointment of the week has to be Capcom’s Lost Planet on PS3, failing to re-enter the Top 40 and charting at only No.7 in the PS3 chart.
Look out for strong new entries next week from Army of Two, Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed, Warhammer 40,000: Soulstorm and a re-entry for Rockstar’s Bully.
