Accomplished all it can, explains leaders.

The Left 4 Dead 2 boycott group has closed, with its leaders having decided the group has achieved all it can.

The group was created in reaction to the announcement of Left 4 Dead 2, with fans angry that Valve had abandoned the first Left 4 Dead game.

"We have accomplished everything we can on our manifesto," stated group leader Agent of Chaos. "We’ve been dealing with Valve ever since our group started, then we met them in-person and now we’re at the point of concluding our discussions. Our goal wasn’t to steer people away from L4D2, it was to get Valve’s attention and have them support original L4D. We succeeded and that’s where our mission ends; nothing more or less."

Co-leader Walking_Target added: "The boycott has served its purpose and it is now up to you all as individuals to decide what is right for you.

"As a collective we have done more than achieve a few goals, we have paved the way for Developer-Community relations in the future. No matter what the press or other gamers say, we have made an indelible mark upon the future of this industry. You should all be proud, we certainly are."

Left 4 Dead 2 is scheduled for release on November 20 for Xbox 360 and PC.

hmmm, don't think it's who you think it is. Unless it turns out they actually can construct sentences.

Boycotting games is so ridiculous, if people don't want a game a year after the previous iteration they won't buy it. I don't think we need to be told what we want by a bunch of PC gamers who are crying because this might be a sign of them not getting free content any more.

Is this a good time to start my campaign to get Left 4 Dead 2 on the PS3?

Has anyone else noticed that Tsar_Chasm turns up at the most opportune moments with great one liners? Anyone else feel suspiciously like he may be someone in disguise?

Saying that, I'm still happy enough playing the original on PC thanks to Steam. Might get the second one on 360 at some point though.

This was always Valves plan. Epic Fail. How can you boycott something and then give up before release? Is it looking too good for them?

We shall never forget these heroes! Someone should build a statue to them, so that one day small children may come to marvel at their valor.

It's just like going to see a film based off a comic book when you said on the forums you're not going to see it because it's not based off something you think would work.

This was a publicity stunt.

The boycott probably did nothing, but Valve is going to support L4D so you could say they did just what they set out
