Since its announcement, Hitman: Absolution has been criticised by fans for appearing ‘dumbed down’, and for featuring additional gameplay mechanics to help broaden the game’s accessibility.

But while there appears to be a certain element of truth to such claims, IO Interactive has integrated multiple difficulty options to help suit different play styles.

Whichever difficulty level you choose will affect the number of enemies in each mission, their reaction times, the number of checkpoints, and the use of ‘Instinct’, a new feature used to help players track enemy paths.

Here’s a full breakdown of each difficulty level found in Hitman: Absolution.
