Fils-Aime: The Conduit will win over Halo audience

Once they've bought into Wii they'll also pick up Mario Kart and Wii Fit Plus.

Speaking to CNET at E3 last week, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime revealed that the platform holder is hoping to win over the Halo audience with titles such as The Conduit, Dead Space and Tiger Woods with Wii MotionPlus.

"The near-term opportunity is the consumer who owns a PS3 or an Xbox 360 and has been bad-mouthing Wii to their friends. We can reach that consumer with games like The Conduit or Tiger Woods with Wii Motion Plus," said Fils-Aime.

He added: "We think we win over the Halo audience with something like The Conduit, a multi-player, online, shooting experience, or Dead Space Extraction. And you know what? Once those people buy into Wii, they'll go buy Mario Kart or Wii Fit Plus."

Those types of gamers want the best and the wii is not capable of delivering those experiences to the fans of that type of game. I will play the Conduit maybe dead space but can't see hardend PS3 and 360 fans making the purchase of a Wii for a couple of games thats predecessors look and play better on the consoles they have. I hardly ever use mine and felt massively disappointed when I first got it if Nintendo want to win over hardcore gamers they need more hardcore games and not just ports of gamecube games Report Reply

Personally, I get bored by yet another bland and identikit FPS game with a shaven-haired gruff marine lead. (Admittedly, The Conduit is looking to be yet ANOTHER of such games!) If Mario Galaxy, Zelda Twilight Princess, Wario Ware Smooth Moves, Excitetruck, No More Heroes, Zack & Wiki, Mario Kart Wii, Smash Brothers Brawl, Geometry Wars Galaxies, Boom Blox, de Blob, HotD Overkill, Deadly Creatures, MadWorld, and Little Kings Story ALL bore you, I would suggest that you have the wrong hobby! I dont play it on my own because It is retarded. And when i have mates round we play Guitar hero of LBP. So bit pointless.The only Wii game that really interest me is Madworld. But even then, I dont like the fact I will be waving my hands around like a tard. I am beleiver that the Wii causes you to become less emersed in the game. I forget I have a controller in my hand all most ever time. where as the wii im all ways thinking about it etc. Report Reply

Also I agree with bloodstorm on mario kart being a rental title for me it was like playing double dash which isnt a bad thing cause double dash is good but since we are on the next generation of console I had hoped for something better. Also Reggie is too good, there was a video on youtube somewhere of him standing outside the mario galaxy booth, watching someone play and nodding his head in satisfaction. Report Reply
