Makes it easy to turn in-game film clips into WMV videos.
In the latest Bungie Weekly Update, the Halo 3 developer has unveiled a new feature for Bungie Pro, the subscription service which increases the Halo 3 file share to 24 slots and 250MB of storage for 750 MS Points per year.
The new feature is Render-to-Video, which means Halo 3 players will no longer require a video capture card to produce high quality, direct-feed Halo 3 footage which is viewable outside of the game. The new feature will be integrated into the Bungie.net file-sharing and will appear alongside existing features, "Copy to My File Share" and "Download to Halo 3". The new feature will produce a "computer-playable" WMV which can be downloaded or viewed on Bungie.net in the same way as screenshots are available.
The final details are still to be worked out - such as the maximum runtime of a video - but Bungie notes that this should all be finalised over the next few weeks.
