Guitar Hero 3 online multiplayer confirmed

Battle friends over the internet in the next version of Guitar Hero.

Speaking to Pro-G today about all things Guitar Hero, Kai Huang, President and Co-Founder of RedOctane, has confirmed that the upcoming Guitar Hero 3 will feature online play.

Fans of the series had hoped that the recently released Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero II would include online multiplayer support, but it wasn't to be.

Guitar Hero 3 is scheduled for released on all major platforms in winter 2007 and is in development at Neversoft. Harmonix, the original studio behind Guitar Hero, is now owned by MTV and is working with EA on Rock Band, a new multi-instrument title for PS3 and Xbox 360.

This is good news. I've never played a Guitar Hero game before, but it would be nice to 'jam' with other people online.

Does this include the Wii version, or is it just Xbox 360 and PS3?

They better not **** everyone over with ps2 by only including the online server for ps3 and xbox 360 just liek the same thing that happend with need for speed carbon xbox 360 and ps3 both had the online feature but for the ps2 it was yet to be found

we've been thinking about this feature since, what, way back. good to hear they are finally including it. however we have some reservations though...

how about lagging? friends code? we hope they are planning somethings about these...
