The game's more than just guitars - other instruments and vocals planned.
Speaking to Conde Nast Portfolio, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has revealed that the Guitar Hero franchise is "not just about guitars," and confirmed that future entries in the series will feature "a lot of other instruments" and "vocals".
With MTV Games, Harmonix and EA having raised the bar with Rock Band, Activision could be forced to follow suit with a full band experience of its own, which coupled with the hugely successful Guitar Hero brand should make for an even more successful formula.
The next title in the Guitar Hero series, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, is scheduled for release in June.

I'd be a bit more opitimistic about this if i was more confident in Red Octanes ability to make reliable hardware...

Guitar hero beleive it or not is guitar only and should stay that way leave the major instruments to the games dedicated to it like rock band however a game like drum hero would be cool or banjo hero lol.

I would like to see guitar hero come up with a way to create your own songs, or at least give us more varity of songs to play. I listen to alot of death metel, and that is what I would like to play. Maybe they should come out with a guitar hero with all metel songs. I also would like them to keep it to one specific instrument, banjo hero sounds cool, I would like to see something like keyboard hero, or drum hero.
