The top exec at the music company that owns the Beatles copyrights shows interest in a Beatles themed Guitar Hero.
First Aerosmith, next The Beatles?According to the LA Times, Martin N. "Marty" Bandier, chairman and chief executive at Sony/ATV Music Publishing - the company that currently owns the John Lennon-Paul McCartney copyrights - a The Beatles themed Guitar Hero game could be on the way.
"It's something we have talked about and something I'd like to pursue," said Bandier.
The first themed Guitar Hero release will feature legendary rock outfit Aerosmith, with the game set to launch on leading platforms in June.
There's no mention of any other Sony/ATV Music Publishing Guitar Hero collaborations, but it's worth noting that the company does own the rights to songs by Jimi Hendrix.

I'm not a fan of the idea of basing a Guitar Hero game around a certain band/artist. I think the games would be more successful if they included a range of artists and songs, like GHIII. I think the only people who would buy these games would be gamers who are big fans of the band. I think I'll be giving Guitar Hero Aerosmith (and Guitar Hero Beatles if it's true) a miss and will just buy Guitar Hero 4. :)

I'm not sure how much of a commercial success Codemasters range of 'team themed' Club Football games were (did anyone actually buy "Hamburger SV Club Football"?), but the Aerosmith and Beatles ideas are along the same lines.
So... doomed to failure?

i won't get GH: Aerosmith.. because ok, Aerosmith is a good band, i like them very much, but a whole GH based on a single band?.. no thanks.
