Courtney Love threatens to sue Activision

Furious that the likeness of Kurt Cobain is featured in Guitar Hero 5.

Publisher Activision has found itself in the firing line of Courtney Love, the widow of Kurt Cobain, who has threatened to sue the video games creator over the inclusion of Cobain in Guitar Hero 5.

Posting on her Twitter account, Love wrote:

"For the record this Guitar Hero shit is breach of contract on a Bullys part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction"

"WE are going to sue the shit out of ACtivision we being the Trust the Estate the LLC the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises," added Love.

Guitar Hero 5 is out in the UK on Friday.

The issue appears to be that Cobains likeness or avatar can be used to play any song. Apparently Love did not agree to this.

It would be nice if both parties could lose money in this case, might shut that knob from Activision up and stop Love from bringing everybody to court.

Suppose she may see it as a quick buck, but don't think she really needs it. Agreed Woffls Activision would of gotten the rights from some were as they would have to with everyone featured in GH5.

Friend of mine is a big Courtney Love fan. Poor sod :)
