Houser talks first GTA 5 steps
First comes the city and then the characters, says Rockstar co-founder.
Grand Theft Auto IV came to a conclusion last month with the release of The Ballad of Gay Tony, the second of two episodes set in GTA 4's Liberty City. With GTA 4 now thought to be done, the wait is on for the announcement of the inevitable GTA 5.
While Take-Two's chairman Strauss Zelnick and co have remained tight lipped on the future of the GTA franchise, Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser has suggested the game is most definitely on his mind.
"We'll think of a city first, then the characters," Houser told The Times.
The Times also states that the script for the next GTA, to be co-written by Houser, will run to around 1,000 pages - nearly ten times longer than a standard feature film script.

1. since the caucasian, italians, russians and african americans have all had a shot at being main characters only logical is an asian character (i'm caucasian btw)
2. combine best elements from each of the gtas - graphics go to gta 4, but best use of map and diversity in cityscape is san andreas, and soundtrack goes to vice city. (have a few suggestions for music but will post them at end)
3. heres an idea not only create a new map but have it so new char can travel to all previous gta cities on a whim by booking flights (like taking taxi rides)
4. Having missions invoving all previous gta main characters.
5. Ability to create own radio station by importing music into existing radio brodcasts
6. traffic that reacts normally not always running over your character or steers into your vehicle (had to redo a lot of missions just because got ran over hailing a taxi)
7. more clothing options
8. make it so char can be male or female.
Likes and Dislikes :
Like: Bring back the ability to mod ur char into either a fat slob or Arnie wannabe. Modding the char should be one time only or change appearance by going to plastic surgeon
Dislike: having to constantly go to gym to keep character fit
Like: Lots of vehicles however rockstar should have more handling options and ability to mod vehicles would be nice Also bring back the Apache helicopter and airplanes Apache was the only heli that handled properly
Dislike: Helicopter handling way to flimsy and not very manuverable. Annihilator helicopter in gta 4 was useless due to rapid drop in altitude made it difficult to lock onto targets.
Like: the date missions
Dislike: getting in game phone calls from dates/friends after accepting missions or immediately after completing missions
Like: Humour, Insults and well placed profanity as in vice city
Dislike: Having profanity used every 2 seconds as in gta 4 just for shock value

and the character a young guy called stephen who has his family murdered by a vicious gang but his only family member left is his younger brother Kenneth#
Stephen would be aged 17
and Kenneth aged 10
they would live together in a crappy house not a flat then stephen realises that he needed to get some money he trys to get a job but doesn't succeed so he so he starts mugging people to get by then after a while a gang contacts him asking him to join he then joins and finds out how unorganized they are so he makes them organized and makes them rich he them goes up the ranks and becomes boss then he starts a war with the gang who killed his family
