Red Dead Redemption developer Rockstar San Diego could be collaborating with Rockstar North on the development of Grand Theft Auto V, according to the online CV of an ex-Rockstar developer.

The LinkedIn profile of Jonathan G., who was employed by Rockstar as a senior artist, states that he "worked on Grand Theft Auto 5 at Rockstar San Diego" between March 2011 and March 2012.

If true, this wouldn't be the first time that Rockstar's global studios have collaborated with each other on projects; Rockstar North previously worked with San Diego on Red Dead Redemption, and with Team Bondi on LA Noire.

Rockstar North is currently the only studio confirmed to be working on Grand Theft Auto V.

Grand Theft Auto V is not expected to be shown at next week's E3, according to a report published yesterday.

I guess one thing missing from the GTA armoury has been the lassoo, would be kinda neat to rope a dope (or a hooker) and hitch them to your vehicle then go for a little drag. I could spend all day just thinking up titles for the associated achievement.

I know that's probably not the exact kind of asset sharing going on here, but it's nice to daydream sometimes.

That's why they don't need to give us more hype. It's Rockstar games. They can do what they want and we will generate our own hype. Your enthusiasm for the game and their lack of promotion has already persuaded you to buy two of their other games. We're salivating for more and all it will take is another little teaser, then off we all go again. GTA HYPE TRAIN!!

I don't know how long they can keep going without any more official info on the game it's been nearly 7 months since the first trailer and not one other bit of official info since, it won't be long before ppl start speculating disaster for the game, I can understand they don't want to take the attention away from max Payne 3 but just a little fresh teaser to keep ppl hyped would do more good than bad and would improve the sales of its past games i reckon, since the first trailer I've bought San Andreas again on Xbox marketplace and GTA 3 on iPhone.

This would not surprise me. Rockstar has a wealth of incredibly talented programmers and if different branches of their company can collaborate into making their products the best they can be, why not?

What this does say to me though is that if the studios are working together, San Diego may not have much going on at their own studio. Since releasing Undead Nightmare for RDR I've not heard much from them. And as for Rockstar North, they have Agent and GTA V on the go. It wouldn't be impossible to believe that San Diego is working on Agent with them as well.
