Yesterday, speaking exclusively to VideoGamer.com, two pupils from Eyemouth High School in Berwickshire, Scotland have revealed that the launch of BBFC 18-rated GTA 4 left the school feeling "deserted".

VideoGamer.com forum veteran Calum Duncan, a 17-year-old who picked up GTA 4 on launch said: "Quite a few classes were a lot quieter and not much work got done. I've never had so many friends off at once for the same reason."

16-year-old Ian Windram, also a forum regular, added: "More than half the school was off today, basically everyone who owns a 360/PS3."

Let us know in the comments section below if the launch of GTA 4 left your school or college feeling like a ghost town.

But if you buy it online, theres no way for any ID check which i think would of been sorted out by now!!!

This is an 18 rated game, and reading that pupils haven't gone school just to play GTA is very odd indeed. These such acts are going to get games like GTA banned in the UK, looks like we going to follow suit like other European countries...

Nothing special happened at my school, just pretty much talking about it. And how people dislike the game in different ways, I have only done like a couple of the proper main missions. Mainly driving around get to the know the place and where the weapons are based at, and properly get the cops after me now and then.

YOUR SOUL IS MINE! (Say like Shang Tsung from MK)

This happen in my school when GTA San Andreas came out, that isnt really new to me. And......yes, if i had a day off of school to play a game my mum and dad would have killed me.

Alfonzo,

That conjures up so many images in very different contexts, it could have either ruined or made my day. I don't know.

@ Alfonzo

Please, for the love of God, explain that comment. It's brilliant and confusing all at the same time.

Surely this game is 18 and advertising the absence is a bit daft as they should not be playing. Only joking if i wanted a film / game with an 18 certificate when i was in school i'd get it somehow. :)

The parents have a lot to answer for. If I wanted a day off for this my mum would have had none of it.... and rightly so. That contro, pad would be hidden in the top cupboard or something. Tut tut.
