David Reeves then tells VideoGamer.com gamers should email Rockstar and ask them what's coming, then doesn't want to comment.
SCEE boss David Reeves told VideoGamer.com last night at PlayStation Day that PS3-owners "probably will see" GTA 4 DLC.
Microsoft has justifiably been chest thumping over its exclusive deal to bring GTA 4 DLC to Xbox 360 owners this autumn, most recently in a note to media reminding gamers that what can't be had on PS3 are the much discussed downloadable episodes, which should offer gamers "hours of additional play".
However, when we caught up with Reeves after his presentation to media at SCEE's PlayStation Day in London last night and asked him whether it was damaging to Sony and the PS3 that there is no GTA 4 DLC coming, he replied: "Well I think you probably will see it, it's just that a deal obviously was struck between Microsoft and Take 2 to do that, and if that's what they want to do, I think that's the last shot they have."
We then asked Reeves if he had any message for PS3 fans who are wondering if there is going to be any PS3 GTA 4 DLC, and he replied: "I would say to them then, you know, email Rockstar (laughs), and ask them what's coming. I think they already are, probably!"
Is there something coming? "I'm honestly not going to make any comment on that because it's too big a thing to... we can make an announcement when we make an announcement."
Cryptic stuff indeed. Do you think GTA 4 DLC will eventually come to PS3 in some form? Let us know in the comments section below.

Rockstar missed an opportunity with sony, i mean in-game they could have branded the video game machines with phony and when you "play" just show an annoying message "coming this year" for it never to happen.
Back at the safehouse you could play overpriced movies on a new disc instead of the disc you already have they could call "nu tray" or something.

Dont give a shit even if it will I will not buy it,there's something missing in this GTA for me or maybe it's just to much,so gonna wait for other cool titles, dont care about DLC!!

sounds like sony gave up rockstar and has no communication with them anymore. damn.

Rockstar have previously said there will be DLC for the PS3, but didn't say what form it would take. David Reeves is just being cautious about what he says before anything is finalised.

I think that both consoles will get the same DLC (maybe guns, vehicles and areas) but the 360 will also have the 2 episodic pieces of content on top of thatfor itself.

Rockstar has never sated there will be downloadable content for PS3 pblive so get your facts straight.
However there will be some form of downloadable content a whopping great patch to resolve the freezing issue. Spent some time at a friends home Sunday playing the game trying to help him through a mission and it froze 3 times during cut scenes in an hour terrible. It needs to be resolved and fast. That HDD install can't be doing anything good as the 360 version doesn't suffer.

I guess it all depends on the agreement with MS and whether its a timed exclusive. I am guessing it only applies to episodic content so multiplayer game types, extra vehicles, weapons and possibly even smaller mission packs could perhaps be released on the PS3.
The fact that MS paid $50 million for these two exclusive episodes and $5 million just for the prestige of being the first to announce the game at E3 2006, might give an indication of how much these downloads will cost 360 users!

Hehe, you're making up the freezing issue, aren't you Karlius? I'm pretty much assuming you are, since I have the PS3 versions, have logged a ton of hours on it, and haven't seen even one trace of a framerate issue, freeze or stutter...
Brydon wrote at 19:40 on 07 May 2008
hey raistlinVII he is right mine froze on me twice but like i had atleast 30hrs in and i was signed in when it hapend to
ninja2244 wrote at 20:28 on 07 May 2008
karlius, A member of R* development team stated to a well known PS3 magazine there would also be DLC for PS3 unavailable to 360, maybe in the form of exclusive items for HOME and a gta social area for HOME where you can meet up with other gta players.. he didnt state exactly but THERe WILL be DLC for PS3..
the PS3 has 44% of gta4' sold, think about how many 360 owners there are compared to PS3 and that shows mny ppl are buying a ps3 just for gta4, another nail in the coffin for XBOX.

Weird, I've got well over 30 hours in and have never had even the slightest glitch. I'm almost always signed into the PS Network. Did it happen during regular gameplay, or multiplayer? I haven't mucked around with multiplayer yet.
Karlius wrote at 22:53 on 07 May 2008
If this was the case then take 2 and r* would be in breech of contract and sued for millions they don't have its an idiotic notion.

Ryman123 wrote at 20:23 on 09 May 2008
it seems highly impossible that a game would freeze for that long Brydon
Ryman123 wrote at 20:25 on 09 May 2008
How far have any of u got in the game
Wido wrote at 20:33 on 09 May 2008
Breach of contract??? Microsoft doesn't own Take Two, its up to Take Two whether they want to make a DLC for the PS3. In fair contrast the PS3 will still get it either way, so hush the fanboyism people.
It would be the last thing you would want to do. :glare:
pblive wrote at 23:14 on 09 May 2008
Rockstar have a contract with Microsoft to prepare exclusive DLC for the 360, therefore any OTHER DLC can be produced for the PS3.
What is more, Rockstar have hinted that the DLC for the 360 will not be complete new missions or maps but more likely side missions. This may disappoint a fair few people thinking they would get more.
Oh, and the problems with GTA have been for both 360 and PS3, though there have been fewer cases of the game freezing up on 360 and more cases of playing time causing 360's themselves to freeze up.
Anonymous wrote at 01:30 on 10 May 2008
I don't think Microsoft would pay 50 mill for side missions, its 2 new episodes, that sounds a little bigger than side missions, and all the 360 freezes are probably because they bumped there system while playing, that scratches the disk and causes it to freeze. the Sony problem is suppose to be fixed now too, by a patch they just put out. One last thing people need to look up "exclusive" that mean it is only coming out for 360. PS3 may get some stuff too, but anything they get will probably be available to everyone.
