SEGA to respect old IP
Admits it hasn't always delivered a really good product in this respect.
SEGA's boss of Europe and America, Mike Hayes, has said the publisher realises it must respect its old IP and admits it hasn't always managed this in the past.
"It's important that on our old IP that is respected, we need to deliver a good product," said Hayes. "And in some instances we have done that - look back at when we re-did SEGA Rally. It scored well and was moderately successful commercially. But then with other great franchises like Golden Axe we didn't produce a great game at all."
He added that any future release that utilises an existing IP will be aiming for review scores averaging 85 per cent.
"Going forward, if we're going to look at any existing IP to bring out the locker, we have to make sure we get the quality to a level we now expect. I'm not saying which IP it would be - a Streets Of Rage, a Crazy Taxi, whatever. What we have to do now is build something that is 85 per cent plus [rated]. We can't just get away with PR."
He concluded: "We've learned that lesson the good way but also the hard way."

Instead we get 3d after 3d sonic game - heres hoping the new 2d version is as good as we are hoping.
Streets of rage would be a welcome return if done properly and the out Run reboots were good if simplistic.

Crazy Taxi is due a release of some kind. It's been so long that it doesn't even need to be innovative, just a non-offensively priced XBLA game that still looks pretty awesome would be fantastic. Hey Sega, if you're watching, I told you to do Sonic 4 as downloadble like a million years ago so give me a job... hurrr..

Surely all developers should be aiming for 100% - This is why there are so many bad to average games on the market!
