The next Gears of War game will not be a cross-gen title, Black Tusk has confirmed.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, Black Tusk developer Jack Felling announced that the upcoming game “won’t be available on [Xbox] 360 but it will be available for the Xbox One”.

While the majority of Microsoft’s recent titles have been released exclusively on Xbox One, it has launched (or has plans to launch) some games across both current and last-gen platforms.

Last year’s Forza Horizon 2, for example, was released on both Xbox One and Xbox 360, with this Christmas’ Rise of the Tomb Raider also due to release on both consoles.

Microsoft has yet to formally reveal Gears of War on Xbox One, but teased earlier this month that fans could see something during this year’s E3. Xbox Live Gold members can currently download the most recent game in the series, Gears of War: Judgment, for free.
