Gears of War 2 News

For:Xbox 360 Release Date: 7 November 2008

The development schedule is too tight to fit in a demo.

Epic Games associate producer Tanya Jessen has told Shacknews that there are currently "no plans" for a Gears of War 2 demo, citing a tight development schedule as the primary reason.

"The reason being that it's been such a fast turnaround. A two year production cycle, for a game of this calibre, is really short," explained Jessen. "Whenever you do a demo, you have to basically ship a whole separate product. As far as our plans after we ship, I can't really speak to that."

It's not like the game needs a demo though. The first game has sold over 4.5 million units worldwide and no demo was released on Xbox 360.

Gears of War 2 is scheduled for release exclusively for Xbox 360 in November.

Good, it gives the game that more excitement to it. And make more people suspense about the second game...

Do we really need a demo? I sure don't, I'll keep in mind that the original was a demo for the second, just a glimpse of what's to come. The first Gears paved way for whats to come from Gears as a series and proved the 360's power, this time with Unreal Engine 3 being improved upon, better graphics, better a.i. and even more enemies on screen at once. The first sold 4.5 million on the 360 alone with out a demo I wouldn't expect anything less of part 2.

Would rather they focussed on the game than waste time on a demo. It's gonna sell extremely well without one anyway.

Same excuse as the last game. Do we care? No, the game is going to be just as good as the first one.
