MS chest thumps over "flood of brilliant 360 games"

Says every week of the year brings a "Christmas Eve" like never before.

Microsoft has begun chest thumping over it's 2008 line-up of games, saying its invention of Xbox has led to a "Christmas Eve like never before" every week of the year.

In an update on its official website the company cites Gears of War 2 (Nov 2008), Ninja Gaiden 2 (June 6), Too Human (August 29), Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise (Sep 2008), Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (Holiday 2008), Fable 2 (2008) and Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One (out now).

It says: "It's going to be very tough sleeping at night with this amazing haul coming so soon."

I personally think that lineup is a total joke. I own both consoles, and since ME & Bioshock my 360 has been collecting dust. Meanwhile ps3 has been releasing all kinds of awesome games (The Show, MGS4, GT-5, etc). The biggest game on the horizon (by far) for either console is Sony's Little Big Planet. I am kind of biased though...I absolutely detest 360 now, due to the fact that I've gone through 6 consoles (yes- i said 6) in 3 years. Meanwhile I've had ps3 for 2 years and it's still humming along like a brand new Corvette.

Only title there I'm genuinely excited about is Banjo. I'm a big fan of the old ones, and I think the direction they've taken it in is a very good move.

Gears 2 may as well be an expansion pack for Gears 1, I don't expect much different to the first, but that's OK because Gears 1 was an amazing game. Ninja Gaiden and Too Human could get cancelled and I wouldn't care in the slightest. Viva Pinata was ok but I got so damn bored of It I couldn't care less about the sequel.

Fable was a great game (apparantly) so I'm slightly interested in Fable 2. Peter Moleyneux may make promises he can't keep, but the one's he does keep negates that, so Fable 2 should be a brilliant game.

At the moment I'm more interested in what Nintendo are going to announce at E3. I don't think I'll be playing many games this year, but 2009 will be amazing. Alan Wake, Mass Effect 2, Mirror's Edge and Half Life Episode 3 (with any luck)

Resistance 2 won't dissapoint as long as they don't tell the story in the lame way that they told the story in Resistance 1 and if they don't make it look like Nathan Hale just got out of a pool full of chlorine after swimming with his eyes open underwater for five hours.

Amazing

Its funny how it had to turn into a fanboy argument. Especially when i seen someone say that ps3 has superior GTA3. LMAO Gta3 doesnt even run at 720P on ps3 it does on 360. So shut up with all the xbox is done ps3 is just starting. News for you THE consoles are virtually the same. The ps3 has slight more power but because of the processor set up it cant do much more than the 360. You will NEVER see major differences on games. Just play whatever console you have and enjoy. My personal opinion I would like Both consoles just to play the games cause both have good exclusive titles.

Or will it just been reading some early reviews of mgs4 and they say COD Especially online. It obviously won't have the awesome story of MGS4 but if itsdown to gameplay i think you may be disappointed. I know this sounds stupid but i hope the game is as awesome as you guys expect the pS3 needs a brilliant game!

RecoN@ Fable was terr

I didnt think the fanboyism was this bad! PMSL! I would like to say as i got the PS3 on launch and i didnt think there was any crap launch titles apart from sonic. Ridge racer was great fun, and rfom was was impressive for a first ps3 game. I think exclusives have been good so far this year.
last year was good for 360 but i think PS3 are doing well this year.

Fable is crap, one of the most over hyped, terrible kid RPG's ever. I see you have played virtually no good RPG's, especially good PC rpg's that make fable look like the bad trash it is. Fable is a kids RPG for the ADD infected. Terrible. If Fable is the consoles highly touted game, you have issues.

Gears came out in November 2006 so did Resisatance a direct attempt at competition came out and failed poor graphics poor game play poor game. People were forced to buy the rubbish as there were no other games available this lead to masses of purchasers using the PS3 as a cheap blueray player. The average ownershps of games bought on release was 0.45 per console. Says a lot for the launch titles.

There have simply been no good PS3 exclusives out so far this year GOW 2 and MGS4 may be the saving factors. I don't believe you have even considered just how good Fable was and Fable 2 promises to be even better. We'll see but the same game with improved graphis would be amazing alone! Isuggest you grab yourself a copy and play one of the best xbox console games.

i bought gears when it came out expecting some sort of gaming revoution what did i get run shoot hide behind wall for the full ****ing game lol dont make me laff it had good graphics though but defo a 1 trick pony.resistance is looking vastly improved too human is multi format any way xbox is slowing reaching its peak what u got to relise xbox games are now what 4 generation graphic wise ps3 2 gen and already matching and now starting to out perform the xbox whic i own as well just look at un charted nowt can touch it on 360 wait mgs4 comes out its gonna be awsome

I wouldnt say they have a great line up of games this year, but GOW2 does wet alot of peoples appetite, besides i reckon there will be a midnight launch without a doubt for this game! I hope theres one for RFOM2 aswell. Both games are good.

But theres a lack of good games out on 360 compared to PS3. Just wish there were more games out for the PC too.:glare:

How is Resistance a gears rip-off, it was released before GEars idiot, and was in production way before gears was even released. Dumb xbox fanboys. Gears is an overrated game, much better shooters around. Resistance 2 is about on par with arcade linear mediocre console shooters.

NJ you do realise Resistance is a poor mans rip of of Gears don't you. No way will 2 be as good as GOW2 i don't any serious gamer could expect it. With GOW you have a good basis to work off with resistance yo have a steaming pile of poo!

I think there s something for everyone in the line up i'm looking forward to fable 2 the most jst hope its not pushed back but i'd rather it be pushed back than come out and fall short. Just want it to be as good as the 1st amazing game.
