Includes five visually enhanced classic maps.
New copies of upcoming gore fest Gears of War 2 will come with a voucher allowing gamers to download maps from the first game.
According to Gamepro, you'll find a redeemable voucher in your brand new copy of Gears of War 2 when it's released on November 7 which will allow you to download the free Flashback map pack.
Flashback will include five visually enhanced classic multiplayer maps from the original Gears of War: Canals, Gridlock, Mansion, Subway and Tyro Station, bringing the total number of available multiplayer maps on day one to 15.
If you buy the Limited Collectors edition of the hotly anticipated game you'll get a code to unlock a gold-plated Lancer Assault Rifle for use in online play.
Gamers in the US who attend 'Midnight Madness' launch events will also be treated to a gold-plated Hammerburst assault rifle. There's no word on whether it will be available to UK fans, however.
Excited? Then head over to our huge hands-on preview of the first act for more Gears of War 2 goodness.

Call me a cynic but... are they releasing 90% of the game on disc and asking users to download the rest because, just maybe, they couldn't fit it all onto one disc?
I mean it looks like a great deal and all, but why split the content? Why not just release the full game and say "Hey guys, we're including 15 multiplayer maps!"

I'd say that they wouldn't start on these maps until the game has gone gold. Which is usually a month before release. I'm sure/hope every last minute will be spent on polishing the game. It would be silly to be working on old maps instead of the game. Plus I think it also gives people the incentive to buy a new/sealed copy of the game to receive the code to get the maps. Rather then buying a used copy for $10-$20 less which has a code that has already been redeemed.

FantasyMesiter, dude, its kinda sweet u would think that do u know how little space these maps would take up especially with a shared assets bas- not much at all. add to that that i very much doubt gears of war 2 will be using up all the space on the disc, i think Devise has it sorted tho!

Yeah, I think you're both right, we're talking kilobytes here really aren't we? In my defence, I should really have had more coffee before I hit the 'Submit Reply' button :)
