Gears is a 'ten-year plan'

The game's writer says fans won't be disappointed.

Speaking during a recent New York Comic-Con Gears of War panel watched by IGN, Gears 2 writer Joshua Ortega has revealed fans of the franchise have lots more to get excited about, for many years to come.

"You will not be disappointed in the next ten years," Ortega said. "It's a ten-year plan. Gears is long-term. The lancer is the new lightsaber."

A decade of Gears of War would take us up to November 2016.

Ortega was also questioned over future single-player DLC. "Keep watching, he said. "You won't be disappointed."
