Producer says script and director will be in place soon.
Speaking to ComingSoon.net, producer Wyck Godfrey has revealed that the Gears of War movie is scheduled for release in the summer of 2010.
"We've got our script on and a director we're about to attach," said Godfrey. "We'll hopefully make that early next year for the summer of 2010."
AdvertisementBack in October 2007 it was suggested by Stuart Beattie (of Pirates of the Caribbean fame) that the Gears movie would be shot entirely on a green screen, much like hit action movie 300. It was also confirmed that Beattie would be liaising with Epic Games and the game's lead designer, Cliffy B, throughout the script writing process.
Gears fans have a two year wait for the first Gears movie then, but thankfully only have to hold out until November this year for the next instalment in the blockbuster video game franchise.

I say Mickey Rourke is an ideal candidate as Marcus Fenix. I would love that
Dominic Santiago should be played by Danny Trejo.
Minh Young Kim maybe Jet Li or Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson
Augustus Cole has to be Michael Clarke Duncan.
Damon Baird could either be the Immortal Hulk Hogan lol or maybe even Dolph Lundgren

it will be interesting who they get to play in gears of war the movie not sure of who to suggest to play in the movie being since i've never actually played the game
