Microsoft has announced that Forza Motorsport and BBC's Top Gear have entered into a long-term collaboration, kicking off with the October release of Forza 3 Ultimate Collection.

The Forza Motorsport franchise is collaborating with BBC's Top Gear team to integrate the Top Gear brand in future versions of Forza Motorsport products.

"Bringing together Top Gear and Forza Motorsport is a natural fit," said Dan Greenawalt, franchise director at Turn 10. "Top Gear is all about automotive passion and playing around with cars which is exactly what we deliver with Forza Motorsport games. We are looking forward to collaborating with their team to bring some of what they do so well on television to our game design process."

Fans will get their first taste of the results of this collaboration with 90 minutes of specially edited Top Gear TV content plus access to the Stig's Garage Car Pack, all downloadable exclusively through Xbox LIVE, as part of the new Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection.

Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection includes all previously released game add-ons, bringing the total car count to 500 and offering more than 100 track configurations. Stig's Garage Car Pack features the Koenigsegg CCX, LEXUS LFA, and Mercedes Benz SLS-AMG. In addition to the car pack, the Top Gear downloadable content will also feature an exclusive 90-minute Top Gear video and an Xbox LIVE Theme featuring Top Gear. Sadly there's no mention of the Top Gear Test Track, but maybe that'll come in future versions of the franchise.

Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection will be released October 29, 2010.

Yep, GT5 will have it on release and GT5P has had Top Gear programme content in the TV section.

Nice if they can share the licence though, then owners of each console can get Top Gear content, no reason not too.

Its all well saying about this, but what about the previous consumers who brought Forza 3? Will they release the Top Gear add on, on the marketplace?

Yeah, this game had better have some good caravan destruction physics.

It would also be cool to have an option in the career mode to become the new stig

Fantastic news! Top Gear is the one show I truly look forward to new episodes of.

Please, though - try and get the Test Track included in the game!

I hope you can turn your cars into boats, get chased by apache Gunships, Ride mopeds through Vietnam, Nearly kill yourself in a Drag Race, Ride a pink Gay car through Texas and fling Volvo's at caravans - otherwise it's not Top Gear!

The TV thing is decent, but not having the track is a killer.

This was basically meant to be in GT5P but PD never got round to it.

Most pointless collabrition ever unless we publish a book halfway through the game and swap our cars with another driver.
