Having slipped from its winter release, Forza Motorsport 2 is now shaping up to be one of the Xbox 360's must have titles of the summer, with a May release target now set. An update on the game's website reveals that development of the game should be done and dusted by mid April, with a release to follow shortly after.

"Our schedule right now has us hitting Xbox certification around the middle of April and going gold soon afterwards, wrote Che Chou. "We want them to put the game on shelves as soon and fast as they can humanly muster. So optimistic estimates have us at retail in the first half of May - obviously the sooner the better and that's our goal."

In the same update, the complete list of tracks is also confirmed. 12 environments will feature in the game, with a total of 47 circuits to race around. We're also promised that new game content, in the shape of tracks and cars, will be released over Xbox Live Marketplace post release.
