EA has announced plans to stop selling access to EA Sports Season Ticket from March 2015. The service will continue to be available to those with an active subscription until March 2016.
The cost of the service has also been reduced from $24.99 to $19.99.
EA Sports Season Ticket allows Xbox 360 and PS3 users to pay an annual fee to gain three days early access to upcoming sports titles, a limited amount of Ultimate Team packs and 20 per cent off DLC.
The decision follows the publisher's recent launch of EA Access, an Xbox One exclusive subscription service that offers subscribers full access to selected EA titles, a 10 per cent discount on DLC and five day trials of new titles.
"We're constantly looking at the benefits we provide to our players and ensuring that they are valuable and beneficial to as many players as possible," said EA, explaining its decision to end Season Ticket.
"As more and more of our fans move to the new generation of consoles, we felt the time was right to start the process of concluding Season Ticket for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The Season Ticket benefits are still available for FIFA 15, NHL 15 and Madden NFL 15, at a new lower price of $19.99."
EA has yet to announce plans for a similar service on PS4.
