Over 875,000 copies of FIFA 13 have been pre-ordered across the globe, EA has announced, with over 1.99 million people downloading the demo within just three days.

The figures shatter records set by last year’s version, with pre-orders in Europe up by 37% over FIFA 12, and 62% in North America.

The FIFA 13 demo has already been downloaded 29% more than last year’s demo, too.

The FIFA 13 demo launched on Xbox 360 and PC on Monday, before following on PS3 a day later.

The demo lets players get a feel for FIFA 13’s new First Touch Control, which offers a more realistic simulation of ball handling.

The wait for the full game is almost over, though. European EA Sports Season Ticket owners can get access to the full game next Saturday, September 22, six days before the game goes on general sale on Friday, September 28.
