Ronaldinho and Rooney are FIFA 07 stars

EA has announced that Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho will be the featured cover star for FIFA 07.

Here in the UK Ronaldinho will be joined by our very own Wayne Rooney on the cover art for FIFA 07. Other national stars will appear on the cover art for their respective country's release - for instance L.A. Galaxy striker Landon Donovan will feature next to Ronaldinho on the box art for the North American release.

"EA SPORTS works with the best players in the world to develop the most authentic football games and we are particularly proud of this year's line-up in FIFA 07," said Clive Downie, Vice-President of Marketing, EA Europe. "Every player who will grace the cover of FIFA 07 is renowned as one of the best at his position in the world, and we are offering a line-up which would be a match for any team past or present."

EA has also announced it has secured exclusive rights to the F.A. Premier League for an additional four years, which extends the agreement up to an including the 2010/11 season.

"The FIFA franchise has always delivered the most authentic game experience and our continuing relationship will enable us to maintain the high standards fans have come to expect from EA SPORTS."

FIFA 07 is scheduled for release on September 29 for PS2, Xbox, GameCube, PC, PSP, DS and GBA. Nothing relating to the game's release on next-gen platforms has been announced just yet.
