Tom Orry, Editor - Football Manager 2010, PC
Having put more than a real month into Football Manager Live, playing Sports Interactive's offline version of the game has thrown up a number of problems. For one, I found it really hard to have any attachment to my team, something that made my initial few hours with the game feel a little awkward. Whereas I feel like my FM Live team is my own, I felt I was like the unwanted supply teacher when I took over at Spurs in FM2010. It was a feeling that soon faded - FM2010's core gameplay is too engrossing for it not to hook you in sooner or later - but for me FM Live is the true next step of management sims. FM2010 will undoubtedly be perfect for loads of footy fans, but it just can't beat playing against a world of real managers.

No matter how hard I try, no matter how many innocents I kill, no matter how many gifts I shower her with, Morrigan won't bite. The witch is a bitch, to be sure. But that makes her all the more attractive. She's cold-hearted, scolding and her boobs hang out. All I want to do is nail her in my tent. The Darkspawn and the end of the world can wait. Exploring the sumptuous mysteries of her nether regions is this Grey Warden's priority. What to do? The more I covet her affection the more alienated my eclectic fellowship becomes. Leliana, the girl next door, and Alistair, the righteous Templar, frown upon my desperate evil machinations. I know their game: they're jealous. This, I imagine, is what it's like being Angelina Jolie. Have I mentioned I'm role-playing as a female warrior with blonde pigtails?

Neon Kelly, Preview Editor - Dementium 2, DS
It's not every DS game that lets you run around digging up graves in a dark Church basement, but that's what I found myself doing earlier this week. It's hard enough for a survival horror game to build up a tense atmosphere under normal circumstances, but Dementium 2 pulls off this impressive feat even when you're sitting on the top deck of a crowded bus - provided, of course, that you're playing headphones on. This game features some of the best sound design I've heard all year, from gibbering Russian mental patients to the freaky clown laughter of a weird four-legged monster-thing that's gobbing slime all over your face. I was certainly a fan of the first Dementium, but this sequel seems to be bigger, better and downright nastier in every conceivable way. We've only got a preview build in the office at the moment, but I can think of no better game to play on Halloween.

How quickly things can change. Last week I was bemoaning yet another disappointing season, now, a week later, the Juicy Danglers are sitting top of the league with nine wins out of 11 and no losses. So why the change in fortune? Close season I signed one of the gameworld's best keepers and veteran playmaker Jaroslav Peskar. I also masterminded a new formation which I feel has been the major reason for the team's success - Even FM Live agrees, as my club biography explains.

"The side are known to be something of a surprise package in the Gameworld, with many experts wondering how the side achieves such success with the players they have at their disposal."

I'm now a fully fledged, beard covered, satchel carrying journalist. Actually, I'm none of these things, but I have written my first review for the site, and I've given it a big fat nine. When I first saw this game at E3, I really didn’t expect it be anything special at all. I hoped it would be, especially after I discovered I went to school with one of the remixers at FreeStyleGames. If they released the mixes on a stand alone retail CD, I would buy it. This is pure party music, and you can't help but crank it up and head bang to the beat. It's for this reason that you can happily sit and watch someone else play without simply waiting for your turn to step up.
