DJ Hero controller won't work with other games

The game's creative director says a game would have to 'rip off' DJ Hero for it to work.

For a while now controllers for Guitar Hero and Rock Band have been playing together without any fighting, allowing a Guitar Hero Drum Kit to work on Rock Band or a Rock Band guitar to function in Guitar Hero.

However, Activision and developer FreeStyleGames won't be playing as nicely with upcoming title DJ Hero and its mixing deck controller.

Asked if the controller will work with other, upcoming DJ style games, DJ Hero creative director Jamie Jackson told Destructoid: "No... DJ Hero is DJ Hero. If someone needed to use our controller, then they would basically have to rip our game off."

Not only will no other game be able to use the controller, but it sounds like FreeStyleGames doesn't want anyone to copy its idea either.

DJ Hero will be available in October.
