Retailers have priced Disney Infinity's range of Starter Packs and characters, and revealed a June 28, 2013 release date.

According to GAME, the Starter Pack, which includes a copy of the game; three characters - Mr. Incredible, Jack Sparrow and Sulley; three Infinity Play Sets - Monsters University, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Incredibles; and the Infinity Base, will cost £64.99 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U, and £54.99 on Wii and 3DS.

The Xbox 360 and 3DS versions are available for slightly cheaper at Amazon, though, costing £60.13 and £47.36 respectively.

The first batch of characters, meanwhile, including The Incredibles' Helen, Violet, Dash and Syndrome, Pirates of the Caribbean's Barbossa and Davy Jones, and Monsters Inc.'s Mike, have been priced £12.99 at GAME and £14.99 at Amazon.

A Sidekick Triple Pack including Mrs Incredible, Barbossa and Mike is also available for £29.99.

In comparison to rival Skylanders, Disney's offering seems slightly more expensive. Skylanders Giants' Starter Pack typically retails at around £59.99, with standard characters retailing for around £8.99 and Giant characters at £14.99.

Disney Infinity was announced by Toy Story director John Lasseter earlier this week, with 17 characters confirmed for release.

The firm hopes that the game will "bring to life new characters, stories and environments from The Walt Disney Company in a way that will delight fans and gamers alike."

Skylanders Giants Improved the 'hidden level' issue, though obviously added more expensive giant figures.

Parents will spend that silly amount to be honest. Even if Skylanders seems cheap going by Disney's prices, I'm sure if you add up Skylanders all up together, it won't be shy away from that target.

I don't know, I know a few people with kids who got Skylanders and they just found themselves buying more figures constantly as the kids came accross areas they couldn't access.

And as a kid, if you went round one of your mates and they had a different character, you will instantly want it. And again by kid, I mean me!

The prospect of buying all of this does sound incredibly expensive, but I don't think the point really is to get them all in the end. Kids will buy the figures in the same way that regular people buy hats in TF2. They'll see one that catches their fancy for/ with their favourite character or class and then will spend hour wearing the hat or playing with the figure in and out of game.

It's sounds cool for kids, one friends has the incredibles characters and another has toy story characters and then you get to mix their worlds, by bringing it to a friends house and stuff. It kind of sounds like a better deal then DLC in the end. If don't own the same DLC pack as a friend of mine I can't experience it with him, but I could play with my friends figure in my game.

So...
£64.99 for the starter pack.

£14.99 for a further 14 characters or £29.99 in a pack of three - £209.86 or £149.94 if most are available in packs of three.

And was I right in thinking to get the actual worlds you have to buy seperate playsets? Which will be £14.99 at best. I reckon theres about five more sets at least, so £74.95.

So all told, if generous
£64.99 - the game
£149.94 - all characters
£74.95 - All Sets
All told - £289.88.

That would be fine if it was going to include months of content but I highly doubt even a child will be overtly challenged.

....Can't deny some part of me still wants it though!
