Microsoft's Kinect Star Wars has entered the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart at No.1, becoming the first Kinect-required game to top the chart.

Kinect Star Wars is also the first Star Wars game to top the UK chart since The Force Unleashed back in week 39 of 2008.

EA, however, remains a chart force, holding places two to five with FIFA Street, Mass Effect 3, FIFA 12 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13.

Modern Warfare 3 is up 76 per cent and climbs to No.6, SSX boasts a 72 per cent sales increase and slides up to No.7, Mario & Sonic is at No.8, Battlefield 3 takes ninth and Skyrim rounds out the Top 10.

The week's only other new entry comes from Capcom's Devil May Cry HD Collection at No.18. SEGA's Rhythm Thief & The Emperor's Treasure and Tecmo Koei's Warriors Orochi 3 each failed to chart inside the Top 40.

VideoGamer.com Analysis

With Easter spending behind us it will be interesting to see how well Kinect Star Wars manages to hold onto its audience, especially with the hungry EA pack biting at its heels.

Whilst many titles managed sales boosts during the Easter week, some titles missed out big time. Namco Bandai's Ridge Racer Unbounded has exited the Top 40 after just one week on the chart at No.21, joined by Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations which bails from its No.6 place last week.

Elsewhere Konami's Silent Hill duo are also Top 40 casualties after one week in the elite list.

Pandora's Tower on Wii is the only release of any significance to look out for next week, but such is the game's niche that we don't expect it to trouble the Top 20.
