Eidos Montreal head Stephane D'Astous has resigned from Square Enix and hit out at his former employer.

Last month, as part of a company-wide re-jig, D'Astous began work on a new project alongside new head of studios Darrell Gallagher. But the role was short-lived, with D'Astous today confirming his departure from the company.

"Since last year's financial short-coming performance of Square Enix Europe, we (HQ London and GM Eidos-Montreal) have had growing and divergent opinions on what needed to be done to correct the situation," explained D'Astous in a statement.

"The lack of leadership, lack of courage and the lack of communication were so evident, that I wasn't able to conduct my job correctly. I realised that our differences were irreconcilable, and that the best decision was unfortunately to part ways."

It's not yet known what D'Astous will do next.

Interestingly, my issues with Square Enix are fast becoming 'irreconcilable' also. :|

it would have probably been another god damn mobile game.

It would have been cool if this dude leaked a modding tool kit out.

After 4 playthroughs I have exhausted all weapon/aug scenarios
I want to play Deus ex with a Bullet Time Aug and stop bullets like neo.
