Eidos Montreal to work closely with CBS Films on the project.
CBS Films has secured the film rights to Square Enix's Deus Ex franchise, with Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh attached to produce, reports Variety.
CBS Films will work closely with Deus Ex developer Eidos Montreal, with the big screen adaptation said to be based on Human Revolution.
"As is clear from the wild success of the game, Square Enix and Eidos-Montreal know how to exceed their audience's expectations by engineering incredible worlds," said Terry Press, co-president of CBS Films. "No one knows 'Human Revolution' like the team that created it, and we look forward to working with them from day one to make a film adaptation worthy of the 'Deus Ex' name."
The film with follow former SWAT security specialist Adam Jensen, who must use his augmented body to unravel a global conspiracy.
Square Enix's involvement with Askarieh shouldn't come as a great surprise, given that he's already got films based on Just Cause and Kane and Lynch in the works.
