Speaking in an interview with Xbox360ism, Capcom Research & Development division chief Keiji Inafune said that Dead Rising on the Xbox 360 is scheduled for a post summer 2006 release.

Inafune has said that Dead Rising, his first project on the Xbox 360, is currently slated for release at some point after summer 2006. He is apparently taking as much time as possible to ensure that the finished game is polished, but also said that there is a possibility is could be released earlier than the current scheduled date. Dead Rising is certainly one of the Xbox 360 titles that grabbed the attention of gamers worldwide, so it's pleasing to hear that the game will not be rushed out to retail.

According to Inafune Capcom had been approached by Microsoft to create a game specifically tailored to a Japanese market, but the publisher denied this request, instead focussing on games that it feels will be a global success.
